Things which amused or interested me today:

  • The K99 is the world’s first ice cream van…
    July 21, 2010 – Eeeenteresting. I suppose if there’s a market…
  • smart: bridge jump 🙂
    July 21, 2010 – I like creative advertising!
  • Despite popular belief…
July 21, 2010 – …this is generally not the way one does IT work.
  • OpenStack Wants to Be Android of The Cloud
July 21, 2010 – This is making the rounds so far; one thing that worries me about “the cloud” is that you don’t know much, if anything, about the quality of the hardware and OS that’s supporting your application until something breaks. This would let folks bring cloud flexibility to something where one can engineer quality into the offering, in a private or otherwise cloud scenario.
  • Puppet Labs Gets $5M for Data Center Software
July 21, 2010 – Interesting. Puppet has supplanted cfengine as the ‘extensible configuration manager of choice’ in a few places I’ve seen.
